Convergence Experience is a community-driven cultural event in Austin, Texas, bringing together world-renowned Brazilian Zouk and Lambada artists for a weekend of workshops, socials, and community gatherings. Confirmed international artists include Iago & Vanessa, Rau & Isa, and Pedro & Ana, who are recognized globally for their artistry, pedagogy, and contributions to the evolution of social dance.
Over the course of September 26–28, 2025, the event will offer:
– 8 professional workshops led by master teachers
– 8 hours of social dancing with live DJs (DJ Ginga & DJ Edghar)
– 2 after parties hosted in East Austin homes
– 1 culminating pool party bringing the community together in celebration
This event is entirely community-organized and fiscally sponsored by Fisterra Projects and Rhythm House. All organizers are volunteering their time, and 100% of ticket donations directly support artist fees, flights, and venue rental.
The goal of Convergence Experience is to:
– Strengthen Austin’s cultural ecosystem by hosting international dance masters
– Provide accessible education and social opportunities through sliding scale pricing ($10–25 per workshop/social, $100–150 weekend pass)
– Foster community resilience, joy, and connection through collective celebration
Convergence Experience reflects the heart of Brazilian Zouk and Lambada: improvisation, partnership, and collective joy. By supporting this event, funders and participants sustain an international cultural exchange while ensuring Austin remains a hub for world-class social dance.
