SUMMARY:A PATH OF IMPERMANENCE: LIFE ALONG A HIGHWAY EXPANSION
DESCRIPTION:An opening night event for local Austin photographer Liz Moskowitz’s solo gallery show\, A Path of Impermanence: lives along a highway expansion\, at Future Front House. \nThe exhibit documents the people\, places\, and landscapes impacted by the Capital Express Central I-35 highway expansion and includes archival photographic prints\, interview quotes\, and site-specific artifacts. Moskowitz’s images speak to broader themes of displacement\, community\, memory\, and change. All images were shot on 120mm film with a medium format camera. \nThe evening reception at Future Front House on October 19th 2024 from 6-9 p.m. will include a Q&A with select project participants at 7p.m. and an opportunity for attendees to write down their own memories and have their notes be part of a catalog donated to the Austin History Center. \nThe exhibit will be on view through October 29.
