SUMMARY:How Heat Affects Us: Community Screening & Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Increased heat will continue to affect our communities in Austin. You’re invited to an evening of science\, art\, and film. A short documentary screening of ‘Una Nave Fragil’ will be followed by a community conversation. \nCome learn about how extreme heat is a risk for all of us. We’ll have scientists from UT’s Jackson School of Geosciences for a demonstration and art for kids and adults. \nSchedule:\n6:30 – 7:30 pm: Welcome\, science room (with VR demonstration)\, art room\, and food\n7:30 – 8:00 pm: Film screening\n8:00 – 9:00 pm: Community conversation \nLight refreshments and drinks will be served\, including empanadas and agua fresca. \nProject supported by the City of Austin\, National Geographic Society\, and Go Austin/Vamos Austin.
