DESCRIPTION:Texas Latin Social Dance Exchange \nProgram Dates\nJanuary through April\nQuarterly event series\nSecond Saturday of the month \nTexas Latin Social Dance Exchange is a quarterly cultural gathering that centers Salsa and Bachata as living social dance traditions practiced across Texas. The program brings together artists\, instructors\, performers\, and community members from Austin\, Dallas\, San Antonio\, and Houston to share regional approaches\, musical interpretations\, and social dance lineages through embodied practice. \nEach event features a two room social format\, with one room dedicated to Salsa and the other to Bachata. This structure supports depth of practice\, musical integrity\, and accessibility for dancers at all experience levels. Instructional workshops led by Texas based artists are followed by extended social dancing that encourages intercity exchange\, mentorship\, and intergenerational participation. \nThe series supports working artists through paid teaching opportunities\, performance engagements\, and professional documentation. Community members are offered an inclusive entry point into Latin social dance traditions\, with no partner required for participation. By sustaining a quarterly cadence\, the program strengthens statewide artistic networks and contributes to the preservation and transmission of Latin dance heritage in Austin. \nHosted by Echale. \nThis project is supported in part by the City of Austin Office of Arts\, Culture\, Music and Entertainment. \n— \nIntercambio de Danzas Sociales Latinas de Texas \nFechas del Programa\nEnero a abril\nSerie trimestral\nSegundo sábado del mes \nIntercambio de Danzas Sociales Latinas de Texas es un encuentro cultural trimestral que sitúa la Salsa y la Bachata como tradiciones vivas de baile social practicadas en todo el estado de Texas. El programa reúne a artistas\, instructores\, intérpretes y miembros de la comunidad de Austin\, Dallas\, San Antonio y Houston para compartir enfoques regionales\, interpretaciones musicales y linajes de danza social a través de la práctica corporal. \nCada evento cuenta con un formato de dos salas\, una dedicada a Salsa y otra a Bachata. Esta estructura apoya la profundidad de la práctica\, la integridad musical y la accesibilidad para personas bailarinas de todos los niveles. Talleres impartidos por artistas de Texas se complementan con amplios espacios de baile social que fomentan el intercambio entre ciudades\, la mentoría y la participación intergeneracional. \nLa serie apoya a artistas en activo mediante oportunidades remuneradas de enseñanza\, presentaciones y documentación profesional. Al mismo tiempo\, ofrece a la comunidad un punto de acceso inclusivo a las tradiciones de danza social latina\, sin requerir pareja para participar.
