SUMMARY:Brazilian Dance Practica
DESCRIPTION:Fisterra presents the Brazilian Dance Practica\, a community program held at the historic Charles Johnson House\, a national landmark built in 1858. The practica offers an inclusive\, welcoming space for people of all levels to explore Brazilian partner dance\, connect through movement\, and build community. The focus is on shared practice and cultural exchange rather than performance. \nCommunity Access\nThis event is free and open to everyone. Participants are invited to “pay from the heart” to help sustain the program and support community dance initiatives. Veterans and members of the VA or Travis Post 76 are warmly welcomed. \nAccessibility and Inclusion\nFor accessibility needs or accommodations\, email ada@fisterra.xyz\n.\nSpanish and Portuguese translation will be available at the event to ensure full language and cultural inclusion. \nCommunity Impact\nThis program also supports dance classes at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in 2026\, expanding access to movement\, creativity\, and connection for students with disabilities. \nCultural Significance\nBy maintaining a consistent\, community-centered offering\, Fisterra strengthens Austin’s cultural ecosystem and preserves the living heritage of Afro-Brazilian partner dance through practice\, mentorship\, and shared joy. \nThis project is supported by the City of Austin Economic Development Department. \nPráctica de Danza Brasileña en 404 Atlanta St\, Austin \nFisterra presenta la Práctica de Danza Brasileña\, un programa comunitario que se lleva a cabo en la histórica Casa Charles Johnson\, un monumento nacional construido en 1858. La práctica ofrece un espacio inclusivo y acogedor donde personas de todos los niveles pueden explorar la danza en pareja brasileña\, conectarse a través del movimiento y fortalecer la comunidad.
