Sommer Henderson opened her studio Soul & Stone in December 2024 after receiving the Nexus Grant from the City of Austin. Since then, she has created a space where those interested in learning ceramic art can do so at an affordable price. She believes art should be accessible to everyone, and not just for those who can afford classes. Soul & Stone: Ancestral Alchemy offers two-hour drop in classes for $25, 6 week classes for $250, and free workshops for those who want to learn wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques for pottery and ceramic sculpture.
