Communal Book Club: All About Love

About Communal
A collaboration between Sanctuary Homes and Recess for Revolution, Communal is a virtual book club centered on healing in, with, and through community. The experience is BIPOC led, and all are welcome.
What to expect?
We’ll be reading and discussing All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks. During the book club, we’ll be guided by a lead facilitator, Danielle Miller, in a safe container for vulnerability, connection, and reflection. There will be small breakout groups (“pods”) led by 3-4 volunteer moderators to allow for deeper and more intimate discussions. This event is limited to 25 attendees. Please RSVP to confirm your attendance.
How to Prepare
-Please finish (or at least start) the book to allow for thoughtful discussion
-Join from a quiet space with stable internet connection
-Bring a journal if you’d like to write and reflect
Who is this for?
This liberation-based book club is for individuals seeking knowledge, conversations, and a safe space to reflect, heal, and grow in order to create positive change in our personal lives, community, and local ecosystem. In times of instability and fear, how might we resource and liberate ourselves and others in pursuit of a more just and regenerative future?
About Recess for Revolution
Recess for Revolution is a social justice resource hub that empowers people to engage in radical acts of resistance. Introduced in February 2025 and facilitated by a diverse coalition of local organizers and organizations, Recess equips people with tools for resistance through mutual aid activations, skill-sharing, teach-ins, and online resources.
About Sanctuary Homes
Sanctuary Homes is a regenerative social club. We reconnect people to self, community, and the earth through transformative experiences rooted in art, healing, and nature. Our mission is to build bridges back to ancient systems of care, culture, and community in order to accelerate a collective paradigm shift for a regenerative future.
