Yollotl: Encuentro del Corazón

Yollotl: Encuentro del Corazón is a three-day community gathering rooted in healing, creativity, and connection. Named after the Nahuatl word Yollotl, meaning “heart,” this event brings together artists, healers, and neighbors to honor the medicine of the heart through film, ceremony, and collective expression.

On Friday, October 17, the weekend opens with a Noche de Cine, or drive-in film screening at the Museum of Human Achievement. Saturday, October 18 invites all into a day of healing, workshops, and exchange at Nepantla, USA.. The celebration culminates on Sunday, October 19 at the Austin Central Library with live music, collaborative art-making, and offerings for the whole family. (FULL SCHEDULE TBA)

Most of the activities are free or low-cost with a sliding scale, ensuring that everyone can take part. Yollotl is an invitation to gather, to listen with the heart, and to remember that community is also medicine.

Yollotl: Encuentro del Corazón es una reunión comunitaria de tres días basada en la sanación, la creatividad y la conexión. Nombrado en honor a la palabra náhuatl Yollotl, que significa “corazón”, este evento reúne a artistas, sanadorxs y vecinxs para honrar la medicina del corazón a través del cine, la ceremonia y la expresión colectiva.

El viernes 17 de octubre, el fin de semana inicia con una Noche de Cine, una proyección tipo autocinema en el Museum of Human Achievement. El sábado 18 de octubre nos invita a un día de sanación, talleres e intercambio en Nepantla, USA. La celebración culmina el domingo 19 de octubre en la Biblioteca Central de Austin con música en vivo, creación artística colaborativa y actividades para toda la familia. La mayoría de las actividades son gratuitas o de bajo costo con escala móvil de precios, para que todas las personas puedan participar. Yollotl es una invitación a reunirnos, escuchar con el corazón y recordar que la comunidad también es medicina.
