It is the day before the race of our lives and all we can think about is how hungry we are. Hungry to win, hungry to race, and hungry, so hungry, to eat that slice of cake, devour that slice of pizza, consume that scoop of ice cream. But we will not let anything, I repeat, ANYTHING, get in the way of us winning. Not a broken nose, not the fat on our bodies, not the ruminations of our desperate anxieties. We will win. We will win.
Hungry Teenage Track Stars is a play that centers around five young teenage girls on the night of, and day after, the biggest high school race of their lives. This world premiere, produced by Broad Theatre, is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
