Guinean Dance Classes

Learn traditional Guinean dance with Mami Sayon Camara! Originally from Conakry, Guinea, Mami brings a lifetime of experience and passion for Guinean dance. From performing at ceremonies honoring her Baga family heritage to teaching at festivals and intensives across the U.S., Mami’s classes are known for their infectious energy, cultural depth, and generosity. Classes offered weekly, open to all levels, and are taught to live drumming on a sprung dance floor, and in air-conditioned comfort. Come dressed in comfortable, breathable clothing like a lappa, sarong, sweats, shorts, or yoga wear. Don’t forget your water bottle! Drummers are welcome to join.
